Next Chapter

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 14, 2026

The short version

1. Who we are

This policy explains how Next Chapter, operated by Lauren Tomlin, collects and uses personal information when you use https://next-chapter-bookclub.com.

2. What we collect

3. How we use it

To run Next Chapter for you and your club: signing you in, showing your club's content to its members, sending account emails (like confirmations and password resets), processing subscriptions and taxes, generating AI book picks, keeping the service secure, and answering your questions. We use feature requests to decide what to build next.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run Next Chapter, and only as needed:

Other members of your club can see what you post in the club and your profile. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep records (for example, billing and tax records, which we keep as long as the law requires). Content you posted in a club may remain visible to that club in anonymized form.

6. Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile anytime in the app. You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it by emailing [email protected]. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We don't sell personal information. We'll respond to verified requests within 45 days.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to each club's data is restricted to its members by database security rules, and payment details stay with Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8. Children

Next Chapter isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Changes

If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll let account holders know by email or in the app before they take effect.
